Common Law

Common law (also called Case Law, Judgments or Rulings) is law made by the decisions of Judges in particular cases. Cases establish the understanding or interpretation that Judges have given to particular issues and problems that have come before them. These cases provide legal principles on how lower courts must approach particular cases and also provide guidelines on how problems in the workplace must be dealt with.
