Contract of apprenticeship

A form of agreement, originating from common law, under which an apprentice can be engaged to work for an employer, creating a common law apprenticeship. An apprentice working under a contract of apprenticeship is entitled to all of the statutory protections granted to employees and enhanced protection against dismissal.
