Restrictive covenant

A restrictive covenant is a clause in your employment contract which prevents you from doing certain things after leaving the job. They are divided into categories such as:

• non solicitation – you cannot poach work from your previous employer.
• non-competition – you cannot go into competition against your previous employer.
• confidentiality – you cannot reveal your previous employers’ confidential information.
