Settlement Agreement

A settlement agreement is a binding contract that records terms and payments to be made from an employer to a current or former employee. In return for the payment, the employee waives their right to make defined contractual and statutory employment law claims against the employer. For a settlement agreement to be legally binding an employee must seek independent legal advice on its terms. see ACAS - Settlement Agreements CAB - Making a settlement agreement with your employer
