Adjournment

An adjournment is the postponement of a fixed hearing date. The Employment Tribunal can order the adjournment of a hearing on its own initiative or on an application by you or your employer. This is done under Rule 29 of the employment tribunal rules.  If the hearing has not yet started then it is postponed and given another start date. This is called re-listing. If the hearing has already started then it is adjourned.
